3. what words seem to have special meaning to the characters/ author.
A word that seems to have a special meaning would be drab. This seems to have a special meaning because the main characters live in a poor area so their cloths wouldn't be at the best quality.
This is a blog for two 10th grade classes who are doing a modified Literature Circles. Each group has a novel they are reading, and the purpose of this blog is for them to fulfill their assigned roles by posting a comment about their reading activities.

3. A word that seems to have special meaning to the arthor/characters, is the word remember. The main character is in a tough place in her life right now. She's holding onto all her memories and writing about them. Her doctor thinks that talking about it will help her get better sooner.
4/29/16 pages 10-15
The words and phrases that are used in an unusual way are the things that the teacher says. The teacher seems different and talks about how much she rather teach them about sexual education because "it doesnt get talked about enough"

Girl...Center Of World Illustrator pgs.12- 16 Question number 2 I choose a Quote "Why do you have to learn the whole code?" Keali`i asked me that night, playing cards with me and Tami. It was full dark. We lit a couple of candles in the living room, giving me the strange feeling that it was a special occasion. We were drinking cups of warm kava, steeped from a medicinal plant called `awa to relieve sore muscles. "Can't you just write out a message and memorize the pattern? Or flicker everything while you're awake?" The quote is important because it said that they cant right a letter and so they have to memorize it.

"Question-2 I choose a quote
"Keali`i and I put on our flippers, and I strap my mask around my forehead. I look at Marcus and Rachel one last time. Keali`i flips backward into the water. I hesitate. No time to explain the truth. But maybe somebody else can tell him. "You know what?" I say to Marcus. "You could stop in Moloka`i on your way east. On the north shore there's a low shelf. A town called Kualapu`u. They'll treat you nicely, maybe even give you more supplies. You might even be able to help a couple Kiwi or Aussie refugees get home. I'm sure there's plenny sheltering there. Up to you."
This quote is important because Keali is trying to help the refugees go home because there is plenty of shelter over there.

Q#1: Ask team-"What do you think this picture means?"
"The Giver" is the title given to the member of society that is the only person who holds the truth about the world outside the community. He holds the memories of the past and he uses them to make decisions for the future whenever the elders go to him. The Giver basically means that he is the one to "give" all this knowledge and power to the "receiver," Jonas. This is so that the old Giver can move on with his life and then eventually die without harming the innocence of the community.
